New Addition to the Family

I am happy to announce that the Holt/Long clan has a new addition to the family. My mom and dad got a new german shepherd puppy from Germany a week ago. For those of you who don't know, german shepherds are our breed of choice. My dad bred and raised german shepherds before he met my mom and the tradition of having this breed as our family dog has since continued. Let's face it....they are the best (besides my dogs of course!). He is 12 weeks old and is full of energy. His favorite thing to do is knock over his water bowl because he likes the rattling sound it makes. Once we got him, we had the task of trying to come up with a name for him. Again, if you don't know, we have also had a tradition of naming our german shepherds the same name...Dogo. Its not because we aren't creative but the first dog got the name Dogo because that was his registered name. The second one got it by default. We tried to call him Zasko but it didn't stick....Jarod, Tyler, and I eventually started calling him Dogo. The third got his name just because it had become a tradition. This time we decided that we were going to name this german shepherd something different. We came up with several names...bear, jj, and hondo (hondo was my dad's pick) but we couldn't seem to agree on anything. So we finally came up with a name that I think is very fitting. His name is...drum roll please....Dogo!
